Back in about 1997 Viv and I tried to do something
entirely different, we worked hard at the idea of buying and running
a pub. It didn't work out, we never did sign a deal, but I wrote
a book on our experiences. The book, described here, is now over
10 years old, but maybe our lessons learned still have value......
SO YOU REALLY WANT TO BUY A PUB?
So You Really Want To Buy A Pub condenses in to a light-hearted
and easy-to read book the many lessons me and my wife Viv learned
during our attempts to change career and buy an English public house.
Although a personal story, the book is full of useful tips and hints
as well as being a cellar-full of information for anyone seeking
to buy almost any type of small business, especially those which
are regulated by law or are dependent on large numbers of customers
for success. Over 20 humorous cartoons illustrate the salient points.
Contents: the book is structured like a play in a theatre.
